Michael Donahue named to Library Board of Trustees

The Park Ridge Library Board of Trustees voted in a new trustee and four officers at its August 20 meeting.

Michael Donahue is a partner at Cambridge Strategic Advisors, a strategy, operations and technology consulting firm. He focuses on strategy and operational engagements within the communications industry, including telecommunications companies, cable companies and their suppliers.

“While the constant introduction of new technologies is certainly a challenge, I believe the board’s main challenge is the continual balancing of resources — money, space and employee and volunteer time — versus the services, programs and media that the library wishes to make available to the public,” Donahue said in his application. He added that his background in financial analysis and modeling, as well as early experience as a software engineer, will be an asset to the organization.

Deepika Thiagarajan was reappointed president, and Theresa Renaldi was named vice president. Gregg Rusk will continue to serve as treasurer, and Anita De Frank was named secretary. The officers will serve in their respective roles through June 2025.

The Mayor’s Advisory Board, consisting of four alderpersons, interviews candidates for non-elected city boards and commissions and makes recommendations to the mayor, who presents them to the full city council for a final vote.
