For Early Childhood and Elementary Educators
Library staff proudly collaborate with schools and teachers within the Park Ridge community by providing access to supplemental classroom materials, supporting the curriculum, and partner on programs that develop information literacy skills and a love of learning and reading.
We offer:
- Classroom visits
- Field trips to the Park Ridge Public Library
- School and classroom loans including big books, classroom instrument sets, preschool theme kits, STEAM kits, audio and multimedia materials, and more
- Teacher professional development programs
- Educator Cards: Eligible educators in Park Ridge schools can get a library card to check out materials for classroom use. Teacher cards allow for extended loan periods and are valid during the school year only. To learn more, please call Patron Services at 847-825-3123, option 6.
- Reading programs such as Growing Book by Book, Reading Patch Clubs and seasonal reading programs
- Scholastic Teachables: This online resource offers teaching resources for every subject, including lesson plans, mini-books, and activity sheets to help educators and families plan for the school year. Teachables content extends from Pre-K to 6th grade. A Park Ridge Library Card is required to use Teachables.
