The Park Ridge Public Library is now offering Doorstep Delivery, an expansion of its Homebound Delivery service. Doorstep Delivery is perfect for patrons in a variety of circumstances, whether you need a one-and-done or short-term assist with getting library materials, or a long-term plan. This service, along with our schedule of virtual programs, our collection of ebooks and audiobooks, as well as our databases, guarantees your Library experience won’t be disrupted.
Initiating a Doorstep Delivery is easy:
- Place items on hold through our online catalog or call the library and speak with a librarian. Our Reader Services and Youth Librarians can make recommendations if you aren’t sure what you’d like.
- When your hold(s) are ready, we will notify you via email, phone, or text, depending on the preference you have indicated on your library card account.
- Call the Library, or reply to the email, to set up a date and time for delivery.
- Our Patron Services staff member will leave the bag on your doorstep. If you live in a multi-unit building, they will ring your unit to let you know your delivery will be placed in your building’s foyer or mailbox area.

Do I need a Park Ridge Library card to use Doorstep Delivery?
Yes. Our Patron Services staff will be checking out the items you are borrowing to your card number just as you would if you were visiting the Library.
How long will it take to get my items?
Once your items are ready, you’ll be notified via text, email, or phone, and you will be able to set up a delivery day and time, so you will know when they’re due to arrive.
I live in a multi-unit building. Where will you leave my bag of items?
We will confirm with you when you set up the appointment that we can leave the bags in your building’s lobby.
What if you leave the items on my doorstep and the weather is bad?
Our delivery bags are durable and waterproof. The bag will be checked out to you along with your books. You can return the bag when you return your items.
How do I return the items?
When you are finished with them and able to get to the Library, bring back the bag and the items to the Library’s front desk.
