The Park Ridge Library will help the community warm-up for Winterfest with a day of events for families and giveaways for teens and adults this Friday. Winterfest Weekend, organized by the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce, officially kicks off at 6 p.m. in Hodges Park.

On Friday afternoon, the Library’s Children’s Department will feature a screening of The Bad Guys from 2 to 3:45 p.m. in the First Floor Meeting Room. From 4:45 to 5:30, families can enjoy a concert starring Grammy®-nominated children’s performer Nanny Nikki. Tickets for the concert are available at the Children’s service desk. The movie does not require registration, but seating is limited.

Throughout the day on Friday, middle and high school students can pick up a Teen Take & Create kit and make their very own waterless snowglobe. The first 100 adults who use the library in some way -- whether to check out materials, get help at the Reference desk or inquire about the Media Lab or Studio -- will be given a Winter Reading Club 2023 mug.

“The Library welcomes community members of all ages and we hope these small giveaways will inspire people come in and use their library,” said Library Director Joanna Bertucci. “We’re excited for a new season to begin, and we hope everyone stops in to see us before heading out to celebrate the start of Winter and support our local businesses. Request a Book Match, spend some time in the Quiet Reading Room or sign up your book club with our Reader Services team. There are myriad ways to use your library.”
