Library Renovation Construction Contract Approved

 

The Park Ridge Public Library Board of Trustees unanimously approved the $1.35 million construction portion of the contract at the January 23 special meeting. Next steps include reviewing options for furniture, fixtures and equipment—which have a 12 – 16 week lead time—in early February with final approval of selections tentatively scheduled by the end of the month.

The Library renovation is designed to better serve the needs of our patrons now and in the future and improve their library experiences. Plans call for a remodeled lobby with a vestibule, a more open floor plan for the Children's department, an expanded Teen Services area, new furniture and carpeting, additional study rooms on the second floor, an enclosed quiet reading area and a larger media lab.

The Board, Studio GC and Library leadership are committed to this renovation and will work to make the process as smooth as possible for our patrons.  As more information becomes available, it will be posted on the Library’s website.
