A library card is required to check out materials and to access our online databases from home or work.
Library cards are issued to all Park Ridge residents free of charge. To obtain a library card please bring evidence of your current home address (driver's license, state ID card, checkbook, utility bill or lease) to the Circulation Desk in the lobby - it only takes a few minutes to obtain a card and cards are valid for three years. We even give you a handy keychain sized card.

In preparation for our new catalog coming in April 2018, you may wish to retrieve your checkout history from our current catalog since it will not transfer over. You can enter your library card number, catalog password and an email address to receive an Excel file with your checkout history here. Any questions, please call us at 847-825-3123. Note: we recommend waiting until closer to the end of March to save your history so that your most recent items will be included.
Nonresident Library Cards
The Park Ridge Public Library is a member of the Reaching Across Illinois Library System and accepts cards from over 400 public libraries in the library system. If you do not live within the system or you are in an area that does not have library service you may be eligible to purchase a nonresident card. As of August 1, 2017, nonresident library cards are $172.50 for six months or $345 per year and provide access to library materials, programs, and online databases.
For more information please read the Library Card Policy - Nonresidents or call the Circulation Department at 847-825-3123.
