The Friends of the Park Ridge Library will bring back its Summer Pop-Up Book Sale this Saturday, July 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Library’s front entrance on Prospect Avenue. The sale will be held on the last day of the Taste of Park Ridge.

Shoppers will find deals on recent fiction bestsellers, history, cookbooks, biographies, and gardening books. As always, there is a large selection of children’s books for all ages plus puzzle books.

"This is the perfect opportunity to pick up summer and vacation reading to while away the warm days and nights,” said Judy Donovan, Friends of the Library co-president and manager of the Pop-Up Sale.

Among the programs and projects that the Friends have supported in the past year are the new Library drive-thru book drop, licenses for feature and classic films shown at the library, and prizes for library reading clubs. Earlier this summer, the Friends introduced a new donations dropbox in the Library parking lot.

The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, dedicated to the support of the Library.  Through an annual membership drive and several large book sales, the Friends raise money for special programs, collections and services that enhance the Library and benefit the community.  Each year the Friends contribute more than $20,000 to the Library.
