Financial Fitness series offers patrons sage advice

This October, the Park Ridge Library presents three free webinars focusing on investing, retirement, and presented by Financial Fitness 2023 is a collaborative series of virtual programs presented by BIG (Business Interest Group). BIG is a group of business librarians in the Chicago suburbs. BIG meets quarterly to discuss business programs, presenters, databases, and our current challenges.

The first webinar, Investing Made Simple with Karen Chan, will be held Tuesday, October 3, at 7 p.m. Financial educator Karen Chan will make stocks, bonds and mutual funds crystal clear using the story of a young company called Freddie's Finest Furniture. You'll learn how to put that information into use as she explains index funds and target retirement funds, and how they can simplify your investing decisions.

On Wednesday, October 11, at 7 p.m., join us for an evening with the past National President of the Financial Planning Association, Ed Gjertsen II, CFP, as he guides you through the various strategies and challenges of successfully navigating the important financial aspects of your retirement years in a webinar titled, Developing Retirement Income Strategies for Today’s Markets.



Terry Savage is a nationally recognized expert on personal finance, the economy and the markets, with a presence in television, radio, newspapers, and is the author of several books. On Wednesday, October 18, in 

the webinar Terry Savage Talks Money, she’ll provide a reality check on the volatile economy, financial markets and personal finance topics, and then answer your questions for 45 minutes.
