Computers - Public workstations are available for your job searching needs including exploring job boards, applying online and updating your resume.  Workstations available free with a Park Ridge Library card.  Black and white printing is 10 cents per page.  We have the 2010 version of the Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Instruction and Help at the Library

Power Employment Workshop: This is a comprehensive workshop led by professionals from the Illinois Worknet Center and includes resume and cover letter guidance, job search techniques, interviewing skills and connecting through social media. Class is usually from 9:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the second Friday of each month, except July. Free program, space is limited to first 20 registrants. You can find our workshops listed on the Illinois WorkNet Center page.

SCORE Small Business Counseling: Counselors from the Chicago Chapter of SCORE will advise small business owners and start-ups with planning, marketing or financial solutions. Sessions are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in a second floor study room.  For more information, call Reference Services at 847-720-3230. The sessions are free but you must make an appointment.
