Friends kick off National Friends of Libraries Week with successful Book Sale

Congratulations and Happy National Friends of the Library Week to our very own FOTL group, who raised nearly $6,000 through their Fall Book Sale this past weekend!

We are so grateful for all that they do in support of the Library, including the funds they raise to fund our popular live concerts, reading program prizes, and more through their seasonal sales and their ongoing Book Nook sale on the second floor of the Library

The Friends of the Park Ridge Library is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to supporting the Library. Through an annual membership drive and several large book sales, the Friends raise money for special programs, collections, and services that enhance the Library and benefit the community. Each year, the Friends contribute more than $15,000 to the Library.

Funds raised year-round by the Friends benefit several areas of the Library, including prizes for adult, teen, and children reading clubs; the purchase of licenses for feature films that are shown free throughout the year. The group supports events like the very popular Book Club Mixers; special performances like their recent Jazz Arts Duo concert, part of their seasonal concert series; and interactive items like the sensory activities and other items you’ll find in the Children’s Department Calming Space and Mother’s Room.
