Each year, the Friends of the Park Ridge Library contribute more than $15,000 to the Library through memberships, seasonal book sales, and The Book Nook, their ongoing sale in the Library. The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
Your membership dollars boost Library programming
The Friends of the Library sponsor seasonal concerts that consistently draw capacity crowds. Their support allows the Library to afford full, multi-piece bands like The Chris Greene Quartet, The Jazz Arts Duo, and, coming May 5, Big Sky Acoustic Trio (left).
The Friends of the Library also sponsor all of the prizes for Summer and Winter Reading, including library-branded winter hats for kids. Prizes provide motivation for kids, teens, and adults to read all season. In 2025 alone, we gave out 1,293 prize books to kids and teens, donated by the Friends.
The Friends also sponsor twice-yearly Book Club Mixers, where local book clubs are invited to experience an author talk from notable writers like Claire Lombardo, Rowan Beaird, and Kathleen Rooney. The Library provides books for more than 70 clubs around town.
