The new trustee, Anita De Frank, is an investment management attorney with more than 10 years of professional experience working with investment advisers, registered investment companies and their trustees on regulatory, compliance and governance matters.
“The Park Ridge Library is a centerpiece of this community, particularly for our children and young adults,” Ms. De Frank wrote in her application to the Mayor’s Advisory Board. “In a time when social media, video games, and all types of screens are competing for our attention, I think it’s important for the Library to continue to engage children and young adults as much as possible … and help them appreciate the value of reading [and] the wealth of information and resources available at the Library.”
Deepika Thiagarajan was named president, and Alex Hanba was named vice president. Gregg Rusk will serve as treasurer, and Lauren Rapisand was named secretary. Hanba served as president since July 2022. The officers will serve in their respective roles through June 2024.
The Mayor’s Advisory Board, consisting of four alderpersons, interviews candidates for non-elected city boards and commissions and makes recommendations to the mayor, who presents them to the full city council for a final vote.
