Can I reserve time in the Studio?
Yes. Once you’ve completed the orientation, you can reserve the Studio for up to 2 hours per day. Fill out this form or call 847-720-3230 to make a reservation.
Do I need to bring my own supplies?
Yes, we recommend bringing your own supplies. The library has limited supplies on hand. If you want to check availability, please contact the library at TheStudio@parkridgelibrary.org. Personal supplies must be approved for use by Studio staff.
How thick a material can the Silhouette Cameo cut?
The Silhouette can cut up to approximately 1 mm in depth when using the standard blade, or up to 2 mm in depth when using the Deep Cut Blade with thicker material types. However, there is still a limitation depending on the material type's density and make up. Testing can be performed on special material types to find whether or not they can be cut successfully by using the Test Cut feature.
How thick a material can the Cricut Maker cut?
The Cricut Maker can cut materials less than 2.4 mm thick. The maximum thickness can also vary with the rigidity of the cutting material. We recommend trying a test cut with a similar material setting first.
What materials can I use with the Epilog Laser?
The Epilog Laser can engrave metal and glass, and engrave and cut most wood. All materials are subject to final approval from library staff.
