Hello from the Loft! We’ve got new reads, comfy (ok, and also very humid) vibes, creative programs, and fun events coming your way. Here’s everything you need to know:
Okay, Yes — It’s Hot 😅
You may have noticed it’s been extra warm and humid in the Teen Loft lately – especially this week. That’s because the Library is undergoing an HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) project and the current phase affects the section of the building the Loft is in. It’s not just the Loft – several other spaces are a bit uncomfortable as well. While the updates are happening, the temperature isn’t always as cool as we’d like — and we really appreciate your patience.
We know it’s not ideal, especially when you’re trying to hang out, study, or play cards, and we’re doing what we can to keep things as comfortable as possible with fans until everything is finished. Thanks for sticking with us — cooler days in the Teen Loft are ahead, even as the temperatures (hopefully) continue in the spring direction they’re currently headed.
T(w)een Tiny Hats Art Show
Y’all really let your creativity shine in the fourth themed T(w)een Tiny Art show! Artists were challenged to create a tiny painting of anything they imagined – with just one requirement: it had to include a tiny top hat. The results: clever, whimsical, surprising, and full of personality.
From magical scenes to simple animals, each piece shows off the creativity and humor of our teen artists.
👉Click to explore the full online gallery, or stop by the landing outside the Teen Loft to see the paintings in person! The exhibit is on display through the end of April – don’t miss it!
