As 2021 comes to an end, the Park Ridge Library has programming scheduled to help patrons get the new year off to a positive start both personally and professionally.

“This year, perhaps  more than ever, people are looking for ways to reboot,” said Library Director Joanna Bertucci. “We hope these programs — as well as our reading clubs, in-person Studio and Media Lab classes, and other offerings — will support patrons as they strive to make 2022 a great year.”

  • On Tuesday, January 11, child psychologist Lindsay Fleming will discuss the particular challenge of supporting the mental health of young people during a pandemic. This virtual program is held in partnership with the Park Ridge Health Commission.

  • Also on January 11, the Library will partner with Go Green Park Ridge to host another Green Reads book discussion. This season’s selection is The Day the World Stops Shopping by J.B. MacKinnon. Discussion will begin at 7 p.m. Participants can pick up a copy of the book at the Reader Services desk at the Library.

  • Feeling fuzzy and low-energy after the last year? Let Kristine Cichowski, CEO of Power to Be, help you refocus, find motivation, and rebuild your social connections for 2022 in a virtual presentation held on Thursday, January 20.

  • In February, job seekers can join Erica Reckamp to get help in firing up their professional network using the latest job search tools in a virtual program, “Job Search Like a Pro,” slated for Thursday, February 17.

Registration is now open for these and all the Library’s winter programs here.
