Renovation Targeted to Start in May

The Park Ridge Public Library Board of Trustees approved the furniture, fixtures and equipment portion of the renovation at their February 20 meeting.  In addition to shelving, carpeting, new lighting on the 2nd floor (south side) and remodeled bathrooms, plans include a redesigned Adult Services area with additional group study rooms, self-checkout kiosks, a quiet room, a new technology area, a larger media/maker lab, comfortable and flexible seating, more access to power, an expanded Teen Services area, a remodeled Lobby and redesigned Children's Services area. Construction is targeted to begin in May.

Throughout the process, through community meetings, emails, surveys and input on Pinterest, patrons have given the Library many great ideas that are included in the renovation plans. The Board is giving the community the opportunity to turn more of these great ideas into reality through contributions for additional special features including furniture, technology, play & learn panels and more. All donations over $500 will be recognized on plaques within the Library. Contact the Business office at 847.720.3201 to find out how you can help support a reimagined Library.

Next steps will include finalizing the construction timeline and project plans. As updates become available they will be posted here.
