The Friends of the Park Ridge Library will host its annual Fall Book Sale at the Library on Saturday, November 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special Preview Night is open to members of the Friends of the Library on Friday, November 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friends of the Library memberships can be purchased at the door on Preview Night starting at $20 for an individual membership; cash or check is accepted.

A Half-Price Sale will be held Sunday, November 10, from noon to 2 p.m.

The sale features recent bestsellers, travel guides, history, and all types of craft books. In addition, there are feature and classic movies and TV shows as well as CDs ranging from jazz and classical to country and hip-hop.

"Our children's section is enormous," said Deb Kuhlman, Friends of the Library co-president and manager of the Book Sale. "We have picture books, chapter books, easy readers, and graphic novels." She added, "This sale can be the perfect place to find holiday gifts." She particularly noted beautiful coffee table books, a wide variety of cookbooks, gift books, and holiday offerings. "Don't forget quilted bookmarks, a truly unique gift for the avid reader," she noted.

Among the programs and projects that the Friends have supported in the past year are licenses for feature and classic films shown at the library, prizes for library reading clubs, and the playhouse for the Children's Early Literacy Play area.

The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, dedicated to the support of the Library.  Through an annual membership drive and several large book sales, the Friends raise money for special programs, collections and services that enhance the Library and benefit the community.  Each year the Friends contribute more than $20,000 to the Library.
