In 1930...
- Another work of art was given to the Library, " A Concert in the 16th Century".
This one was from the estate of Frederick and Adele Pfeifer, who in the early 1900's designed and lived in the large Victorian house at 412 S. Courtland.
[The library still owns this painting shown on the right. You can see a small portion of it hanging above the fireplace in the photo shown below.]
Beginning in 1932...
- Library hours were extended to 61.
In 1936...
- During the "Great Depression," the Library was remodeled and redecorated by
Civil Works Administration city workers.
In 1937...
- A branch library was established at 620 Devon Avenue.
- Betty Hart was branch librarian.
