The Library circulates many Parents' and Kids' Concerns Bags, each containing several books on parenting issues that are of interest to both parents and kids. The Parents' and Kids' Concerns Bags circulate for three weeks. Topics included Blended Families, Adoption, Understanding ADD and ADHD and many more.

Funds for the parenting kits were provided by the Park Ridge (Noon) Kiwanis.

Preschool Theme Bags

The Library circulates theme bags on a variety of topics. Theme bags are designed for adults to use with preschool and primary grade children in groups or on a one to one basis. Each bag contains five picture books, a book for the adult with suggestions for crafts or related activities, and a puppet, cassette or other item on the related theme. Topics include Baby Animals, Trains, Firefighters, Farm, New Baby and many more. Use the term "carrying bag" as a keyword search in the Online Catalog to determine availability.

Field Trip Backpacks

Students can take a virtual field trip by checking out one of our new Field Trip Backpacks. Each backpack contains several books as well as something special to extend the field trip experience. We offer the following four "trips" to chooose from: Planetarium, Aquarium, Art Museum and Science Museum. Use the term "field trip backpack" as a keyword search in the Online Catalog catalog to determine availability.
