Summer Reading Kickoff
Friday, June 11, 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Program registration will begin Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. Registration is first-come, first-served and
available in-person only on June 11th. Phone and on-line registration will be available beginning Saturday June 12 at 9:00 a.m. Game design class registration will be lottery-based, and names must be entered June 11 - June 14 by phone or in-person. YA Babysitting Class
Learn the skills of babysitting, including childcare, safety, and finding clients. You must attend both classes in your session. Max: 25
Session I: Monday, June 21 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 22 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Session II: Monday, July 19 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 20 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Game Design & Programming Classes
Limit two classes per student. Enrollment will be decided by lottery. Enter your name by Monday, June 14. Drawing will be held and participants notified on Tuesday, June 15.
Beginning Game Maker
Attend both: Thursday, June 17 and Friday, June 18 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Learn how to design your own platform, shooter, or tactical video game. Create graphics and apply interactive behaviors to game components. Max: 10
Unity 3-D
Attend both: Saturday, July 10 and 17, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m
Come in and help us try out Unity 3D and learn how to create your own 3D video game . Max: 10
Extreme Duct Tape
Wednesday, June 16 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
We’ll provide rolls of multicolored duct tape—you create iPod covers, clothing, purses…anything you can imagine. Prizes will be awarded for the top three designs. Max: 40

Bring your cameras or use one of ours as we take pictures of the library and downtown Park Ridge to compare to Park Ridge 100 years ago and to save for teens in 2110. Meet up in the loft. Max: 20
In Comics
Wednesday, June 23, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Join comic book creator and artist Doug Klauba as he comes in to discuss comics and get hands-on instruction on creating and drawing your own comic book characters. Max: 40.

Hunger Games Tournament
Tuesday August 17, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Come to the library to celebrate the release day of the last book of the Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay, with our own version of the Hunger Games. Winning teams will have the chance to compete against teams from the Niles Public Library.
