Take a Fall StoryWalk at Wildwood Nature Center

This fall, families in Park Ridge can again enjoy an interactive reading experience while getting up close and personal with nature. Park Ridge Public Library presents its sixth StoryWalk® and third in partnership with the Park District at the Wildwood Nature Center.

Featuring the book Harry the Dirty Dog, written by Gene Zion and illustrated by Margaret Bloy Graham, the StoryWalk’s® laminated pages are posted at a child-friendly height along the walking path. Families can enjoy this classic picture book about a white dog with black spots who absolutely, positively hates to take a bath. After a day of adventure, Harry gets so dirty that he no longer looks like a white dog with black spots. Now he looks like a black dog with white spots! Harry the Dirty Dog has been entertaining young readers for decades.

The StoryWalk® will be on display September 15 through October 23, 2017.

Wildwood Nature Center is located at 529 Forestview Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068. For more information, call the Park Ridge Public Library 847-825-4527.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg Hubbard Library in an effort to encourage physical activity, early literacy, and family time together in nature.
