Park Ridge Public Library is a municipal library organized under the provisions of the Local Library Act as found in Chapter 81 of the Illinois Revised Statutes. Service boundaries are identical to those of the City of Park Ridge. Library revenue is derived chiefly from the general property tax as levied by City Council. Other sources of revenue include: corporate personal property replacement tax, miscellaneous fines and fees, and such other allocations as are made by the City of Park Ridge for library purposes. Library Fund budget for FY 2006/07 is $4,076,200.
LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
As a municipal library, Park Ridge Public Library is governed by an unsalaried Board of nine Trustees appointed by the Mayor with City Council approval to serve staggered three-year terms. These terms are subject to renewal for additional periods of three years. Board officers are elected each year at the July meeting. The Library Director is the chief administrative officer of the Library.
MEETINGS
Regular public meetings of the Library Board of Trustees are scheduled on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. in the frst floor meeting room of the Library. Board meetings are conducted according to the provisions of the Illinois Open Meetings
Act.

REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION
Requests for further information under the provisions of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act may be submitted to the Library Director at the Library Business Office between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. weekdays. Any charges to be incurred for copying of Library records must be paid in advance at the time of filing the request. Copying charge is 25 cents/exposure.
Requests for information in Library personnel records will be accepted based on policies governing such records as stated in the current City of Park Ridge Employee Manual.
