Preschoolers
Young children can join the Reading Patch Club by having someone read books to them! There are now four patches to choose from: Read-to-Me, We Read Together, Reading Makes Me Happy or Cuddle Up With Books. Read 50 books to your child or children. When you have read a book write down the title and author in the folder. When you have read all 50 books, bring your folder to the Information Desk in Children's Services and we will give your child a patch!

Kindergarten Patch
While they are in Kindergarten, children can earn two special patches, the Wagon patch and one called Warm Up to Books by having someone read (or reading themselves) 50 books.

First Graders
First graders have a chance to earn an "I Can Read!" patch by reading 20 books on their own. They can then move on to "I Can Read More" and finally to "I Can Be A Star Reader." To earn each additional patch they will need to read 20 more books.
