What Your Vote Means

Question 1: Shall the City of Park Ridge replace its library with a new, larger building at a cost of approximately $20 ($20,000,000) million?
A YES Vote Means

  • I want complete and detailed information about a new Library: costs, design, site plans, parking, etc.
  • I want this information available to me so I can make an informed decision on a binding referendum in April 2003.
What a NO Vote Means
  • I may not have the opportunity to see the design possibilities of a new library, because:
  • The City Council may decide to inform the Library Board that it will not fund a new library, thus ending the planning process for a new Library.

Question 2: Shall the City of Park Ridge permit retail stores or other commercial buildings to be built on the Library Block?
A YES Vote Means
  • I am in favor of adding retail/commercial space to the Library Block.
A NO Vote Means
  • I am against adding retail/commercial space to the Library Block.

Question 3: If the City of Park Ridge builds a new library, should it be built in the same location on the Library Block as the current library?
A YES Vote Means
  • The City Council has already determined that if a new library were constructed, it would be built on the current Library Block.
A NO Vote Means

  • The City Council has already determined that if a new library were constructed, it would be built on the current Library Block.
