Young children can join the Reading Patch Club by having someone read books to them. Stop in to the Children’s Service Department to sign-up. Read 50 books to your child or children at home, the library, or anywhere. After each book you read, write down the title and author in the folder. When you have read all 50 books, bring your folder to the Information Desk in Children's Services and we will give your child an embroidered patch to keep! There are now four patches to choose from: Read-to-Me, We Read Together, Reading Makes Me Happy or Cuddle Up With Books.

 

Finished with all the patchesω You can earn each patch every year or wait until your child is in Kindergarten when they can start earning more patches.
 

The Reading Patch Club runs from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
