MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MARKETING AND FUND RAISING COMMITTEE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PARK RIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY HELD JUNE 12, 2007 AT 7:46 P.M. IN THE MEMORIAL ROOM OF THE LIBRARY ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Eileen O'Neill-Burke, Chair Pro-tem; Margaret Harrison, Dorothy Hynous, Library Board; Janet Van De Carr, Library Director; Linda Egebrecht, Library staff. ABSENT: Shlomo Crandus, Chair. Approval of Minutes Mrs. Harrison made a MOTION: To approve the minutes for the Marketing and Fund Raising Committee Meeting held May 8, 2007. Ms. Hynous SECONDED the motion. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. 2007 Fund Raising Projects Buy A Brick Approved phrases for brick engraving are more geared to individuals and families than to businesses. Business orders may require special consideration to accommodate business needs. The committee will consider each business brick purchase request on a case by case basis. Strategic Plan 07-08 Action Plans No report Taste of Park Ridge The staff IDEA team has been meeting to discuss plans for the Library's presence at the Taste of Park Ridge. There will be a bean bag toss game/trivia game where everyone wins. Information will be included in the next newsletter. Board members are being asked to volunteer their time. Harry Potter Event Mrs. Hall, Children's Services Manager, has been coordinating the event. Twenty-five businesses have already committed to participating in this city-wide celebration for all ages to be held on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. Liberty Bank for Savings has donated $1,500 to sponsor the event. New Library Information Coordinator Mrs. Van De Carr introduced the new Library Information Coordinator, Carol Simantz. Ms. Simantz spoke about her experience in marketing, which is quite extensive. Strategic Plan No report Adjournment 8:11 p.m.
