OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PARK RIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY HELD AT 7:30 P.M. ON AUGUST 30, 2007 IN THE THIRD FLOOR MEETING ROOM OF THE LIBRARY CALL TO ORDER Mr. Schmidt called the meeting to order at 6:50 p.m. ROLL CALL TRUSTEES PRESENT: John Schmidt, President; Shlomo Crandus, Vice-President; Margaret Harrison, Secretary; Dorothy Hynous, Treasurer; John Benka, Patricia Lofthouse. TRUSTEES ABSENT: Arthur Davis, Eileen O'Neill-Burke, Richard Van Metre. OTHERS PRESENT: Janet Van De Carr, Library Director; Linda Egebrecht, Library Staff. COMMITTEE REPORTS The Board met with Ms. Julie Bailey and Ms. Linda Novotny of the Public Opinion Laboratory (POL) of Northern Illinois University (NIU). The Board chose POL/NIU to conduct a community survey (for 400 respondents) for the Park Ridge Public Library. The Board reviewed the proposed survey questions and discussed the intended priorities of the Board and Library in order to determine what the goals are for the community survey. The Board determined that Trustees will review proposed survey questions from POL/NIU, as well as the survey questions from the (year) 2000 community survey. The Board needs to determine if any questions from the 2000 Survey need to be asked again. Adjournment: 9:00 p.m. |
