Library Improvements

The Library Board of Trustees  hired the architectural firm, Studio GC to develop plans for renovating and improving the public spaces in the Library.  Studio GC collected comments from the public at several public information sessions, met with the Library Board and worked closely with staff to develop a plan that will meet the needs of library users now and into the future.

In addition to new carpet, new lighting on the 2nd floor (south side) and remodeled bathrooms, plans include a redesigned Adult Services area with additional group study rooms, a quiet room, a new technology area, a larger media/maker lab, comfortable and flexible new seating, more access to power, an expanded Teen Services area, a remodeled Lobby and redesigned Children's Services area.

Funds for this project come from the successful 2014 Library Referendum that restored services and provided funds to renovate and improve the Library.  The budget for this project is approximately 2 million dollars.

First Floor - Includes a redesigned Lobby with interior vestibule and new book return area.  The Children's Services Department will have a more open floor plan with new spaces for technology, study and learning activities.

Enhanced Features - Studio GC has proposed several items to enhance the renovated spaces in the Library such as a fireplace in the Quiet Reading Room.  The Library Board of Trustees plans to raise funds through donations and sponsorships to pay for these items. More information will be available in early 2017.
